I had an S8 for 5 years, only bought a new one as my battery was failing. The S21 was a good price and does the job well. I miss the size and shape of the s8, this is more blocky and big. The plastic back is not as nice as the glass back of the s8. Battery is fine, still need to charge up everyday.

Buying the Samsung Galaxy S21 in 2024 may seem strange, but it is a good value device for the current price on offer. High end device with great screen and build quality. The battery standby time is really good. Samsung are still pushing out updates for the Galaxy S21 as well. The Galaxy S series offers many high end capabilities not found in lower or mid range devices. Samsung DEX is a great feature that I missed before I came back to using a Galaxy S series device again. Samsung devices do still support Miracast and the Galaxy S series do support HDMI output via the USB C port. These high end features are simply not available on many other devices. Where the device isn't so great is in power consumption. While the battery drain is ok and, perhaps, slightly better than my experience with previous Galaxy S models, the Galaxy S24 seems to have made great strides in this space. Additionally, the cameras are not as sharp as those found on devices launched in the past year or two. Camera sensors and technology are very competitive and it is immediately noticeable when moving to a slightly older device such as the Galaxy S21. Overall it is still a good device and can be purchased at a much more competitive price than newer models.

The fingerprint it's not fast and does not work good on sunny days and sometimes locks my phone because I'm trying to unlock it with the fingerprint.
