Samsung Galaxy A80

Anno 2019, smartphone manufacturers are trying to find the most creative solutions to fit in a front camera while making the bezels around the display as thin as possible. On 10 April 2019, Samsung introduced the Galaxy A80, a smartphone with an extendable and rotating camera setup!

This setup consists of two cameras, a 3D sensor, and an LED flash! The phone also features a large Super AMOLED display, a quick fingerprint scanner, and a big battery. It runs on Android 9 Pie with an added One UI skin, and is available is a black, gold, and white colour!

Noteworthy, extendable camera

Instead of a selfie camera in a bar or notch above the screen, Samsung has opted for een extendable camera mechanism. This part contains the back camera but, when you slide it up, the camera can rotate and function as a front camera.

These cameras consist of a 48-megapixel primary lens, a second 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 3D Time-of-Flight sensor that measures depth. This camera combination shoots pin-sharp pictures, and pin-sharp selfies! Use the depth sensor to easily add a depth-of-field effect to your portrait pictures.

Large Super AMOLED display

The front of the Samsung A80 is absolutely breathtaking. The Super AMOLED display is 6.7-inch in size, making it a perfect screen to watch all kinds of content on. The panel produces a beautiful colour contrast and sharp images, it's perfect for watching videos on YouTube or Netflix!

Fingerprint scanner in the screen

The fingerprint scanner is incorporated in the Super AMOLED panel, and isn't visible to the naked eye! Place your finger on the designated area on the screen and you'll have access to your A80 in no time. The scanner is very secure, so only you can access your files.

Large battery with quick charge technology

Of course, you never want to go out with a dead phone. You won't have to worry about that thanks to the 3700mAh battery of this Samsung A80. This battery gives enough power for a full day of intense use! You can charge it again very quickly due to the 25W quick charge technology.

Snapdragon processor for everyday tasks

Within the Samsung Galaxy A80, you'll find the Snapdragon 730, a new Qualcomm processor that produces lots of power and efficiency. This makes the A80 perfect at handling daily tasks like Facebook and Netflix, and you may expect a good battery life to boot!

Lots of storage space

The Galaxy A80 comes with 128GB of internal storage, a fair amount that can store lots of pictures, Spotify playlists, and apps. The A80 is also equipped with a large amount of RAM: 8GB. This allows you to multitask and launch apps without a hitch!

Out of the box, Samsung delivers the Samsung Galaxy A80 with Android 9 Pie, Google's mobile operating system. Samsung did cover Android with the One UI skin. This user-friendly skin adds a sleek interface that's easier to use with one hand!
